Work Types Tab - Agreement

The Agreement Work Types tab enables you to override rates and rate types that were previously defined in the Work Type Setup Table. If you set the custom rates or rate types on this tab, they will apply to all items that have the agreement attached. If you do not select a work type from the Work Type drop down field, the rate or rate type you enter will apply to all work types. This enables you to set up a flat rate agreement quickly and easily. You can also use this option to quickly apply a discount to all work types.

To locate this screen navigate to Finance > Agreements.

Field Descriptions

The following section provides details for the pods and fields on the Work Types Tab screen. The following fields are available on the Work Types tab:

Select the Work Type from the drop down list that you want to create a specialty rate for. Work Types are defined in the Work Type Setup Table.

The option you select overrides the default rate from the Work Type Setup Table. The options are:

Rate Type Rate How it Calculates
Custom $200 Custom Rate overrides the Standard Rate. Rate = $200
Adj Amount $25 Std. Rate + Adj. Amount (if Std. Rate = $100) $100 + $25 = $125
Multiplier 1.5 Std. Rate * Multiplier (if Std. Rate = $100) $100 * 1.5 = $150

Select from the drop-down menu what time entered against this Work Type defaults to:

The first date on which this work type will override the default work role. This defaults to the current date.

Note: If you are creating a back-dated agreement, you must back-date the effective date prior to the first time entry you would like to override or else the custom rate will not be applied.

This field allows you to place a limited amount or hours the Agreement covers for the selected Work Type.
For example, an Agreement covers 10 hours of service per month but only 5 hours of onsite time can be applied; anything over 5 hours will bill as an overage. The limit amount or hours will reset based on the Available per field under the Application Parameters of the Agreement. This applies to Agreements with unlimited application parameters as well.

To use this feature:

  1. Click on the New Item icon in the Agreement Work Types Tab.
  2. Select the Work Type from the drop-down.
  3. Enter the limit in the 'Limit To' field.

Limit To field functionality:

The option you select overrides the default rate from the Work Type Setup Table. The options are:

Adj Amount $25 Std. Rate + Adj. Amount (if Std. Rate = $100) $100 + $25 = $125
Multiplier 1.5 Std. Rate * Multiplier (if Std. Rate = $100) $100 * 1.5 = $150

Enter the value for the custom rate, adjustment or multiplier rate type.

This is where you can select a custom rate for a time that is being covered.

Business Case: The Account Manager negotiated a deal with Chris Craft Boats. The company signed up for a Gold Managed Service Agreement that covers unlimited hours with the exception of five hours on site each month. After the five hours are used up, the company receives a discounted rate. The Account Manager can easily customize this for their client in the Agreement Work Type Tab in the Overage Rate field.
